The Church of the Resurrection
The Church of the Resurrection is located on Vineyard Street, Carenage. Prior to this, The Church was constructed in Tucker Valley but due to the restrictions imposed on this area when the Americans installed the base, services were first held at the homes of members, then at the Society Lodge in Mt. Pleasant, Carenage. Through the generosity of Mr. Percival Bain, a parcel of land on Vineyard Street was donated and with assistance and support of persons in the area, including the former Minister of Works, the Hon. Hugh Francis, it was on this parcel the new Church was built. The first service was held on 25th May 1969 (Whit Sunday) and the Church was dedicated in May 1995 by the then Bishop of Trinidad and Tobago the Rt. Revd. Rawle Douglin.
